Overview for Nanny Background Checks & Household Employee Background Checks

GoNannies offers access to Free Preliminary nanny background Checks and household employee background checks as well as a full suite of supplemental background checks. We recommend that you run BOTH the preliminary and supplemental levels of background checks prior to allowing someone to work in your home [Learn Why]. Below is how each of these checks works.

To View a Preliminary Background Check (FREE):

While logged in to your account click the "Request Free Access to Background Check" link on the profile of the job seekers you're interested in.
|
|
|
|
|
|
 |
Job Seekers receive your request and will RELEASE or REFUSE access.
(Note: Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, applicants must authorize the release of any consumer report run on them, including background checks.)

|
|
|
|
|

Once access is granted, you'll be notified via email and will see a link to view results in the Background Check section of your account.
|

| After viewing the results of a Preliminary Background Check we strongly recommend that you purchase a Criminal Background Check Bundle if the appropriate county check was not already performed during the Preliminary Check. |

Expiration & Refunds
(Applies to paid background checks only)

|
|
All paid background checks purchased independently (NOT as a part of our pre-configured,
pre-defined packages) are eligible for a refund subject to the following rules:
All background checks must be redeemed within 60 days of purchase or within 60 days
after a Membership Period WHICH WAS PURCHASED AT THE SAME TIME expires (whichever
date is later). You may alternately request a refund within that same period for
backgorund checks which have not yet been redeemed. All Refunds are subject to a
$10.95 service fee. Once the period of redemption/refund has passed, the background
check may neither be redeemed nor refunded.
Note: All Verifications included in one of our pre-configured, pre-defined packages
are NOT eligible for refund as those packages are specially priced and individual
package component prices do not exist for those packages.

Background Checks in multiple counties/states
(Applies to paid background checks only)
|

|
|
We recommend that you do not purchase background checks for multiple counties/states
until you have identified the candidate you would like to check and know where they
have resided. When determining which locations to actually have a check run, consider
how old the candidate was when they resided there (criminal activity that occurred
before the candidate was 18 will not be reported) as well as how long they resided
at each location(records older than 7-10 years will often not be reported).
If you decide to run a check in more than one county/state, if you have not done
so already, purchase a U.S. Criminal Background Check Bundle (required in order
to purchase ADDITIONAL county/state checks), then do the following:
- Login to your GoNannies.com account.
- Click the “Add Services” button in your Purchased Services section.
- Select the ADDITIONAL county/state check you would like to purchase.
- Click CONTINUE to be guided through the purchase process.
Note: Additional county/state checks are a supplement to our U.S. Criminal Background
Check Bundle and may only be purchased once you have purchased one of those bundles.

Aliases/"Also Known As" (AKA) Names
(Applies to paid background checks only)
|

|
|
Any aliases names (AKAs) identified for a candidate will require an additional fee
and will need to be purchased at the time of identifying who the candidate is.
AKAs only incur an additional charge for Criminal Background Check Bundles and
Additional County/State checks due to additional fees charged by jurisdictions to run the
additional names.
