Growing up, Monta Fleming's favorite pastime was to problem-solve. From helping neighborhood friends make their own lunchboxes at age 8 to to starting her own pillow-making and housekeeping business at age 11, Monta always found a way to help contribute to her family's expenses. So it's no wonder that when faced with the challenges of working, raising a family, and finding care for her newborn child, she was able to turn a challenging situation into a winning situation for both herself and thousands of other families.
Monta was raised by a single mother of three children and witnessed early on the struggles her mother faced balancing work and home-life. It was through her own mother’s struggles and triumphs that Monta learned to be an independent, strong and determined woman with strong family values. Despite Monta’s degree in Psychology and Marketing, she went on to pursue 17 years in the corporate world as a self-taught computer programmer, eventually making her way up to Managing Web Development, Systems Administration and Management Information Systems departments, and ultimately Director of all IT Systems for multi-national corporations.
When she and her husband Sean Fleming decided to start their own family, Monta thought she was prepared for any obstacle that came her way. However, upon the birth of their first son, Monta experienced a major shift in priorities. The once incredibly career-minded woman found herself torn between the need to be home with her son and continuing to dedicate herself to the career she loved. Unfortunately, staying at home full-time was not feasible so she decided to do what she felt was the next best option by hiring a nanny to care for her son. However, she never imagined the challenges she would encounter finding the “right” nanny. After rounds of unsuccessful nanny placements using over-priced nanny agencies, Monta knew there had to be a better way.
With an “A-ha!” moment and a passion only a mother’s love could fuel, Monta decided to utilize her Management and IT expertise to create the better way to find care – GoNannies.com! Sacrificing her family’s life savings, 401k and any other available funds, she worked endlessly all hours of the night to reach her goal of creating a trustworthy company other families could use to find the help they need. Since founding GoNannies, Monta has put careful thought and consideration into every business decision to ensure that GoNannies’ families and job seekers are always the highest priority. Having trusted GoNannies.com to find a nanny for her own family, Monta has ensured that GoNannies is committed to offering a higher level of service that will never compromise safe, quality services for the sake of earning higher profits.
While continuing to run a successful business, Monta is now the mother of three children – Joel, Sydney and Madison. As the ultimate “Mom-preneur”, she is actively involved in her family, community, and many Entrepreneural groups and endeavors. Monta volunteers for PTA, puts her love of cooking to good use by preparing meals for the sick and elderly, and volunteers with her local Children’s Advocacy Center. Monta also serves as an Expert Advisor on multiple household help issues to many Organizations and groups, and is a mentor for other “Mom-preneurs” to help them in their quest to find balance between work and home.
