Growing up, Monta Fleming's favorite pastime was to problem-solve. Monta was raised by a single mother of three children and witnessed early on the struggles her mother faced balancing work and home-life. It was through her own mother’s struggles and triumphs that Monta learned to be an independent, strong and determined woman with strong family values. Despite Monta’s degree in Psychology and Marketing, she went on to pursue 17 years in the corporate world as a self-taught computer programmer, eventually making her way up to Managing Web Development, Systems Administration and Management Information Systems departments, and ultimately Director of all IT Systems for multi-national corporations.

When she and her husband Sean Fleming decided to start their own family, Monta thought she was prepared for any obstacle that came her way. However, upon the birth of their first son, Monta experienced a major shift in priorities. The once incredibly career-minded woman found herself torn between the need to be home with her son and continuing to dedicate herself to the career she loved.
