A preliminay background check includes a social security number trace (to identify previous names and addresses) and a nationwide criminal database check (does not include all U.S. counties).

While logged in to your account click the "View Background Check on File" link on the profile of the job seeker of interest and continue as directed.

Job seekers will either already have a background check attached to their profile OR you may request that they add one.

Preliminary checks do not cover all U.S. counties and do not include critical in-court county checks which are essential to obtaining accurate, complete, and up-to-date information. View preliminary checks as a first round of screening to determine if you should pursue a candidate further.

Some job seekers have full background checks on file. There is no charge for families to view these full background checks. If a Job seeker does not yet have a background check attached, you may request that they add a preliminary check to their profile.

We recommend running a full background check on your final candidate even if you've already viewed the results of their preliminary background check. While a preliminary check will allow you to keep a job seeker ruled in as a viable candidate, since the preliminary is not a complete check, a complete one should still be run.
